This weekend, between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd of June, the Ibiza Polo Club held the 1st International Polo Classic.
Friday, Michel Janneau, Vice-President and Executive Director of Champagne Louis Roederer, the Club’s annual sponsor and exclusive partner, presented to the world the Jeroboam Orfèvre by Cristal, while Lalique, official trophy partner of the tournament, also displayed their trophy, specially engraved for this polo cup.
The competition began Friday afternoon with an exhibition match between Roman Fortunato Polo Team and Los Mariachis Polo Team. Saturday, 2 games were played in the afternoon. Ibiza Delivers Polo Team lost against 4Polo Management Polo Team (4,5-5), while Los Mariachis Polo Team defeated Roman Fortunato Polo Team (4-2).
Sunday, Finals were played and the tournament was won by Los Mariachis Polo Team in a very close and exiting game in a full 7 minutes extra time against 4Polo Management Polo Team (5-4). Roman Fortu- nato Polo Team took the 3rd place by winning the subsidiary match against Ibiza Delivers.
François Gottardini, Lalique’s Export Director, was on the podium to congratulate the teams and reward them with hand made crystal sculptures.

The Ibiza International Polo Classic will take place between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd of June.
The Ibiza Polo Club will open the reception desk at 6h30 pm, and games will be played from 7h00 pm all along the weekend.
Sunday June 23rd, the Club will open at 5h30 pm, and the final will conclude with the award ceremony of the tournament.

Louis Roederer will reveal on Friday 21st in a world première a very special bottle: the Cristal Jeroboam Orfèvre, millésime 2002. This bottle, limited to 200 copies will be introduced in the evening by Louis Roe- derer’s International Senior Management, who will be present at the Club with a few available bottles
to eventually be sold to the Ibiza Polo Club’s most prestigious guests.

Lalique will also be actively involved, and expose from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd the trophy of the Ibiza International Polo Classic 2013, before handing over their prizes to the players and teams on Sunday afternoon. The tournament trophy is a hand made crystal sculpture called Kazac Horse.
The event will also count on the involvement of the perfume maker Hierbas de Ibiza, and with Caviar tastings organized by Per Sé, a Spanish and ecological Caviar, native to the Aragon river.
The Ibiza Polo Club hosted this weekend the 1st edi- tion of the Ibiza Charity Polo Cup, organized by the Asosiación Española Contra el Cancer (A.E.C.C) and Ibiza Delivers.
Jaeger-LeCoultre, Champagne Louis Roederer, Atzaró, La Mer and Ibiza Style, the Club’s sponsors also participated to the event.
Around 500 people, visitors or residents of the island, enjoyed a perfect day and assisted to an exhibition match between the Ibiza Delivers Polo Team and the Roman Fortunato Polo Team.
The score was 4-3 for the Roman Fortunato Polo Team, composed by Roman Fortunato (0), Adriano Agosti (0), Nic Roldan (8), and Gaston Laulhé (7). Anoushka Bahlsen (0), Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros (1), Alejandro Novillo Astrada (8), and Juan Ambroggio (7) composed the Ibiza Delivers Polo Team.
Adriano Agosti scored 2 goals, while Nic Roldan and Gaston Laulhé 1 each. Anoushka Bahlsen scored 2 goals for her team, and Alejandro Novillo Astrada the 3rd goal.
Alejandro Novillo Astrada was also rewarded as the best player of the game, while Picasso, ridden by Nic Roldan in the 4th chukker, was named best playing pony.
The day ended with an after polo party with live music, DJ, and an auction in favour of the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
The 1st Ibiza International Polo Classic is about to take place at the Ibiza Polo Club, a medium handicap tournament (10-12), conceived on a sporting point of view as the most important rendezvous of the Club, and which will be held from now on every year.
Programmed in June to avoid the highest temperatures of the summer, some of the world’s best professional players are expected to attend this international tournament. This edition will also be the maiden voyage of high goal tournaments in the island of Ibiza.
4 international teams, summing a total handicap of 10 to 12 goals will play against each other between Thursday June 20th and Sunday June 23rd, in 6 polo matches, played every late afternoon.
We expect players from all over the world, in spite of the few available entries, and an important international crowd, gathering to watch the never before seen games in the island.
In between matches and after the games are over, the Club will welcome product presentations from some of the most prestigious sponsors of the season, fashion shows, DJs and live music.
The players and the public will also enjoy our After Polo Parties, on Friday and Saturday.
